
the Chamber of Commerce Hispanic of the United States (USHCC for its acronym in English) is proud to announce that the winner of the Ultimate Latin (Latin par excellence) award of 2012 is the presenter of television, author, actress, and businesswoman, Cristina Saralegui. Saralegui will accept the prize in the Ultimate Latin lunch on Monday, 17 September, during the 33rd annual National Convention of the USHCC in Los Angeles, California.
"We always keen to honor the work and the contributions to society of the extraordinary Latino entrepreneurs," said Nina Vaca, the USHCC President. "As the Ultimate Latin 2012, Cristina Saralegui is a living testament to the iron will and ingenuity which characterize the business community Latin - the business segment of more rapid growth in the United States".
Saralegui star began to shine in 1979 when he was named Editor-in-Chief of 'Cosmopolitan in Spanish'. Saralegui used his experience in journalism to become executive producer and host of his own most-watched "El Show de Cristina" discussion program which ran for 21 years at Univision. The program was hailed as the first of its kind to offer a platform for discussion award in a market devoid of options in Spanish million viewers. Winner of 12 Emmys, she is also the first television personality to Spanish to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
often compared to Oprah Winfrey in terms of its influence and achievements, Saralegui brand has gone for many years to include: Cristina La magazine, a magazine created by her more than 20 years ago; Casa Cristina, a collection of household items; a television studio based in Miami; Cristina Radio, a program launched recently on SiriusXM; and above the life Up with Life, a foundation dedicated to the awareness and education on AIDS. Is also collaborating to regulate the Huffington Post and author.
